New Forest field excursion: Mire restoration sites.
AFTERNOON
New Forest field excursion: Visit to Pony Sales Yard, talk on commoning over lunch.
New Forest field excursion: Dry heathland areas, wild fire recovery and controlled burn sites.
EVENING
Dinner at conference venue.
WEDNESDAY 21st AUGUST
MORNING
Presentations: Urban development, people and recreation management.
AFTERNOON
Poole Harbour boat trip: Guided trip to see Dorset Heaths in landscape, links to other coastal and wetland habitats, Osprey reintroduction.
Urban Heath site visit: Canford Heath, urban heaths and combatting urban pressure.
EVENING
Dinner at conference venue.
THURSDAY 22nd AUGUST
MORNING
Purbeck site excursion: Mineral sites and restoration techniques.
AFTERNOON
Purbeck site excursion: Lunch stop on chalk ridge & overview.
Arne RSPB reserve: bare ground creation & management, species management and restoration from forestry.
EVENING
Conference dinner.
FRIDAY 23rd AUGUST
MORNING
Presentations.
Conference close.
AFTERNOON
Optional extension: Coach to Devon & settling in at accommodation.
Optional extension: Visit to Mutter's Moor for overview and context.
EVENING
Optional extension: Pizza at Otterton Mill.
SATURDAY 24th AUGUST
MORNING
Optional extension: Tour of East Devon Heaths: restoration areas (minerals and forestry), grazing, recreation management. Buffet lunch and tea en route. .
AFTERNOON
Optional extension: Tour of East Devon Heaths: restoration areas (minerals and forestry), grazing, recreation management.

Optional extension: Evening ceildh and local event.
